Vanilla bean paste is added to this easy, homemade pancake recipe, to yield the most flavorful of pancakes! Homemade pancakes are easier to make than you think and soooooo worth the extra few minutes it takes instead of using a box mix. And the best part?? I bet you have everything you need to make these in your pantry already! And use whatever milk you have in the fridge…
I received product samples from sponsor companies to aid in the creation of the #BacktoSchoolTreats week recipes. All opinions are mine alone.
I used Taylor & Colledge Vanilla Bean Paste to flavor these pancakes! The vanilla bean paste is the equivalent of straight up vanilla beans. Mmmmmm. Vanilla. Pancakes. Syrup. Does breakfast get any better than this?!
Want a make ahead tip? Mix all the dry ingredients together and store the mixture in a jar or ziplock bag. Now you have pre-made pancake mix. Just add your wet ingredients when the mood for pancakes strikes (which for me could literally be breakfast, lunch or dinner!!) and now you have a quick and filling breakfast!
Letting your batter rest for at least 5-minutes is the key to making these pancakes super fluffy!
Vanilla Bean Pancakes
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 cup milk (add an additional tablespoon or two to reach your desired consistency)
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste (I used Taylor & Colledge Vanilla Bean Paste)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 tablespoons white granulated sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
In a large bowl, add the egg and beat. Using a whisk, mix in the milk canola oil, vanilla bean paste, flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and ground nutmeg. Do not overmix! Batter would be thick and a little lumpy. If the mixture is too thick, then add additional tablespoons of milk until you reach your desired consistency. Set the batter aside for 5-minutes.
Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat (if you do not have a good quality non-stick pan, you will need to grease your pan). After batter has rested and pan has heated to a medium heat, pour the batter into the pan, making the pancakes as big or little as you desire.
Cook pancakes until multiple bubbles form on the raw, top surface. Use a pancake flipper to flip the pancake over to cook the other side. Continue the process until all batter is cooked.
Serve pancakes warm with the option of butter and syrup!
Do you see the speck of vanilla beans there???? Mmmmmmm!!!
A huge thanks to Taylor & Colledge for being a sponsor in our #BacktoSchoolTreats week!
