Chex cereal treats full of Chex cereal, marshmallows and white chocolate…but to make these unicorn treats, I also added fun sprinkles and colorful marshmallows. Cereal treats are easy to make and kids love them, especially when they are as fun as these unicorn treats!
DISCLAIMER: Chex was kind enough to send me a box of unicorn themed products to create a recipe with. Some of the products they sent me were used to make this recipe. All photographs, thoughts, ideas and recipe are my own.
To make these cereal treats, you can use your favorite variety of Chex cereal. I used Corn Chex, but Rice Chex or any of their other flavored varieties will work in this recipe!
Unicron Chex Treats
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 8 cups Chex cereal (I used Corn Chex)
- 1/4 cup fruity marshmallows
- 1/4 cup colored sprinkles
Instructions
Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.
In a large pot on the stovetop, over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the entire bag (or 8 cups) of marshmallows to the melted butter and continue cooking over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the marshmallows have melted. Remove the pot from the stove.
Stir in the white chocolate chips, salt and vanilla extract into the marshmallow mixture. Once the white chocolate is mostly melted, fold in the Chex cereal, one cup at a time. Fold in the fruity marshmallows.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, gently pressing the mixture into the pan. Top with sprinkles.
Allow treats to cool and set in the pan completely before cutting into desired sized squares (2-3 hours).
Notes
Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
XOXO,
Kelly
