Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Homemade chocolate chip cookie dough with an entire Oreo cookie stuffed in the middle. The best of both cookie worlds all in one massive cookie.

You can make this recipe using store bought cookie dough and any flavor Oreo cookie you like. I doubled my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe and used classic Oreos in the middle.

To help the cookies bake up nice and thick, I baked the cookie dough balls in a cupcake tin. A baking sheet can be used instead, but your cookies may spread.

Serves: 20 Cooking Time: 15-17 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1-1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker’s Extract)
  • 4 egg yolks, room temperature
  • 2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 20 Oreo cookies

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350-degrees and line two cupcake tins with 20 cupcake liners and set aside.

2

In a large bowl mix together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until combined. Stir in the egg yolks. Stir in the flour, baking soda, salt and cornstarch and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

3

Use a standard sized cookie scoop (approximately 1-1/2 tablespoons) to scoop cookie dough balls. Once all the dough has been rolled into balls, use the palm of your hand to flatten each ball. Place an Oreo cookie in the middle of the flattened dough ball and wrap another flattened dough ball around the Oreo cookie, rolling it into a ball and filling covering the Oreo in cookie dough. Place a dough ball in each cupcake liner.

4

Bake at 350-degrees for 15-17 minutes. Remove from oven and allow cookies to fully set and cool in the tin for 20-30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. You can choose to remove the cookies from the cupcake liner at this time.

5

Let cookies set on cookie sheet for 5-minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Cookies stay fresh for 5-7 days.
