Homemade Chex Party Mix is easy to make. Rice Chex, Corn Chex, sourdough pretzel bites, cracker pieces, topped with butter, spices and Worcestershire sauce, and then baked in the oven. Β This recipe beats store bought Chex Mix any day!
Chex Party Mix
Print RecipeIngredients
- 5 cups Corn Chex
- 4 cups Rice Chex
- 2 cups small pretzels (I used Hanover's Sourdough Pretzel Bites)
- 1 cup cracker pieces (I used Milton's Everything Crackers)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder (NOT GARLIC SALT)
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 250-degrees. Line a large, rimmed baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray (I used a 17.25-inch x 11.5-inch x 1-inch pan). Add the Corn Chex, Rice Chex, pretzels and cracker pieces to the prepared baking pan. Stir the dry ingredients to mix them up.
In a small microwave safe bowl, add the butter and melt the butter. Remove the bowl from the microwave and whisk in the Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder and salt. Whisk until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Slowly pour the butter mixture over the Chex mix on the baking pan, evenly distributing the butter mixture over the Chex mix. Use clean hands to gently stir and toss the Chex mix, combining the butter mixture throughout the Chex mix, ensuring the Chex mix is evenly moistened.
Bake Chex Mix in 250-degree oven for 60-minutes, stirring the mixture every 15-minutes. At the last 15-minutes of baking time, increase the oven temperature to 325-degrees.
Let Chex Mix cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
Chex Mix will stay fresh for up to two weeks when stored properly, at room temperature.

September 21, 2017 at 11:46 AMI’m sorry that you have been so sick! It seems that parents just don’t have time to be sick and that makes it even harder because everybody still expects you to do everything that you usually do. I hope that you are on the mend. I love this chex party mix recipe. I don’t watch football either, but I do have a husband and some children that enjoy football and they would definitely enjoy this chex party mix during the game! Thank you for sharing, and take care of yourself.

September 21, 2017 at 9:18 PMooh this sounds so snackable! i’m not a huge fan of those hard, dark brown wafer/cracker things in storebought chex mix, so making it at home would let me customize the mix! love how flavorful this sounds too (:
