Fruity Pebbles Cereal Treats

Cereal treats are a quick and easy dessert to make and using Fruity Pebbles cereal makes a fun, fruity and ooey-gooey cereal treat that everyone will love!

These homemade cereal treats are super soft and I add in mini marshmallows at end, so there are little pieces of marshmallow in each bar.

Fruity Pebbles Cereal Treats

Print Recipe
Serves: 30 Cooking Time: 5-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or if using salted butter, omit the salt below)
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6-1/2 cups Fruity Pebbles Cereal
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

1

Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.

2

Add the butter to a medium sized pot and melt on the stove top over medium-high heat. Remove one cup of mini marshmallows from the bag and set aside. Once the butter has melted, add the bag of mini marshmallows to the butter. Once the marshmallows start to melt, add a pinch of salt to the pot. Continue to stir the mixture continuously until all the marshmallows have melted. Once the marshmallows are completely melted, remove the pot from the stove top.

3

Immediately stir in the vanilla extract to the marshmallow mixture. Add the white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir until chocolate is mostly melted. Add the Fruity Pebbles cereal one cup at a time to the marshmallow mixture, stirring each cup of cereal in completely before adding the next. Continue adding cereal to the marshmallow mixture, until all the cereal is mixed in the marshmallow mixture. Stir in the cup of mini marshmallows that you had set aside.

4

Pour mixture into prepared pan and GENTLY press mixture evenly into the pan. Spray one of your hands with baking spray to gently press the mixture into the pan, if the mixture keeps sticking to your hand or fingers. Top with sprinkles. Let treats cool completely before cutting into desired sized squares.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container.

You can also make shapes using cookie cutters, if you are making these for a party. I made some fun rainbow shaped treats!

This look like a lot of FUN!!! I want to make them, too. Do you think little kids could help with this? I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old grands. They are BUSY!!! It would be a mess but they’d have a ball! Best wishes for more fun ahead this week, Linda @Crafts a la mode

Hi Lisa!! As long as you are careful with them mixing the hot marshmallow mixture, I think they could help! Or have them help to push the treats out into the pan! And thanks for hosting the party! XOXO
