Frosted Flakes Cereal Cookies

Finely crushed Frosted Flakes cereal is added to this cookie dough batter, along with even more Frosted Flakes and then rolled in a Frosted Flakes crumb and sugar mixture before being baked to soft cookie perfection.

When I added the whole Frosted Flakes to my cookie dough, I actually tossed the Frosted Flakes in three tablespoons of melted white chocolate first.  Totally optional, but it adds sweetness to the cookie dough and helps to keep the cereal crunchy.  If you want to coat your Frosted Flakes in white chocolate, do this step first and let the cereal set on the counter while you make the cookie dough and then gently add the cereal after you have mixed up your dough.

Serves: 30 Cooking Time: 10-minutes

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/4 light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (I used Rodelle Ceylon Cinnamon)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 cups Frosted Flakes cereal crumbs (finely crushed)
  • 1 cup whole Frosted Flakes cereal (option to coat in white chocolate first)
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup finely crushed Frosted Flakes cereal

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350-degrees and line three cookie sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

2

In the bowl of a stand mixer, affixed with the paddle attachment, add the butter and beat on medium speed until creamy. Add the white sugar and brown sugar to the butter and mix until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing the first egg in completely before adding the second egg. Add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix until combined.

3

Change the mixer to low speed and add the flour, baking powder, cornstarch and finely crushed Frosted Flakes crumbs. Mix until barely combined. Remove the bowl from the mixer and use a rubber scraper to ensure ingredients are completely incorporated and gently fold in the cup of whole Frosted Flakes.

4

In a small bowl, mix together the topping. Use a standard sized cookie scoop (tablespoon and a half approximately) to scoop cookie dough balls, rolling them in the topping and then onto prepared cookie sheets. Leave a few inches in between cookie dough balls.

5

Bake in 350-degree oven for 10-minutes. Let cookies set on the cookie sheet for 5-minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Cookies stay fresh for up to a week.

I tried the Frosted Flake cookies. After reading all the talk about how good they we’re so while my time was very precious to me, I thought these cookies would be worth my time.
I hate to say it, but these cookies weren’t very good and definitely not worth my time. I have been cookiing for years and made it exactly as you explained. They even looked like your cookies. It would have been more enjoyable to just sit and have a bowl of the cereal.
I get the impression that you made up the recipe. I really wish that people who post recipes online would make sure they are good. Not only does it take time to make them but it is also expensive to use up all the ingredients.
I don’t mean to be mean but am just frustrated. I’m just going too stop using recipes I find online because every recipe I try, seems like it’s not very good. Going to stick to my tried and true recipes!

Well I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy this recipe. Taste is subjective and no one will make and like every recipe that is out there. To each their own. But this is a free recipe that you tried…not something you paid for by buying a cookbook. I did create the recipe myself, as I develop my own recipes that I post here on my blog. I made these and my family enjoyed them. I think your comment was mean and rude. I have made plenty of recipes over the years from other blogs that did not turn out, or I simply did not enjoy, but I don’t go and leave nasty comments about it. But I guess some people have nothing better to do.
