Today I am sharing with you a fun and easy tutorial on decorating fondant into Fortnite V-Bucks. The V-Buck fondant toppers can be used on cupcakes or cookies, or make one huge V-Buck for on top of a cake. I am including step by step directions on making fondant V-Bucks toppers (with pictures of course!) and recipes for my Homemade Vanilla Marshmallow Fondant and two cookie recipes that would work well with these V-Bucks fondant toppers on top.
With the outrageous popularity of Fortnite these days, it seems like there are quite a few Fortnite-themed birthday parties. These V-Bucks fondant toppers are great for topping cookies to put in a goodie bag to giveaway to party guests! Just put a few decorated cookies in a clear bag, tie with a bow and your guests have yummy and fun treat to take home. Way better than all the “junk” that normally goes in those goodie bags.
Fondant is easy to work with and easy to make! I have a simple and YUMMY tasting fondant recipe that works great for these V-Bucks, especially because I made the fondant V-Bucks quite thick. You can also purchase fondant from your local cake decorating store or hobby shop to use to make these V-Bucks.
STEP ONE
Gather your supplies. Fondant, a circle cutter, a smaller circle to trace around (I used a chocolate gold coin), a small “J” and “V” cookie cutter, a paint brush, blue gel dye and silver get dye.
STEP TWO
Roll out your fondant to your desired thickness. I rolled mine out to approximately 1/4-inch. For each Fortnite V-Buck topper, you will need to cut out one circle, one “V” and three “J” shapes.
STEP THREE
Use a knife to trace a smaller circle in the middle of your circle cut out.
STEP FOUR
Paint the middle circle blue. Paint the border silver.
STEP FIVE
Gently press the “J” shaped pieces so they are curved into half moon shapes. Press the “V” into the center on of the blue circle and space the three “J” cutouts on the silver border.
STEP SIX
Gently press fondant toppers on top of cookies or cupcakes.
You can use these Fortnite V-Bucks fondant toppers on cupcakes or cookies. I put these particular ones on top of my Hot Cocoa Cookies because the marshmallow fondant was perfect for on top of a hot chocolate-flavored cookie! If you wanted the cookies to look more uniform, then cut the cookies with the same circle cutter used for the toppers, as soon as you take the cookies out of the oven. I didn’t mind having the cookie sticking out from behind the V-Buck though!
My Perfectly Soft Sugar Cut-Out Cookies are also great cookie option for these toppers!
SO TELL ME….

February 21, 2019 at 8:23 AMMy goodness! These are super cool. We have stayed on the sidelines of Fortnite so far, but it will not be long before kiddo starts asking for money to buy gear and outfits etc…I watch a lot of business news and I am amazed by the billions these guys rake in every quarter – such a genius concept for a ‘free’ game, lol. I bet you’ll help out many of a Fortnite party organizer with this tutorial:)
