Edible cookie dough…for those times when all you want is the ultimate guilty pleasure of eating raw cookie dough! But this cookie dough is safe to eat. No eggs and I have included instructions on heat treating the flour too. This is an easy, one bowl, no bake recipe that is great to just have in the refrigerator for late night snacking, or jar it up and gift it!
WARNING: this cookie dough is ADDICTING. You can’t stop at just one bite. Or at least I couldn’t! And besides being addicting, this cookie dough is dangerous!! Dangerous because it only takes a few minutes to mix up, meaning that within a few minutes I could be spoon deep in a bowl of this! Ahhhh….someone come save me from myself!
So this cookie dough contains all the usual cookie dough suspects. Minus the eggs and adding a can of sweetened condensed milk. And just like that, you know this is going to taste amazing. Because anything made with sweetened condensed milk can’t be bad.
Now just mix all that together and voila! Edible cookie dough! Now I cannot be held responsible for any weight gain caused by making this recipe. Just saying.
Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- pinch of nutmeg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (see notes below for instructions on heat treating it)
- 1 (14-ounce can) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used a mix of mini and regular sized chips)
Instructions
In the bowl of a stand mixer, affixed with the paddle attachment, add the butter and brown sugar. Mix on medium high speed until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract, salt and nutmeg and mix until well incorporated. On low speed, add a cup of flour and half the can of sweetened condensed milk and then add the second cup of flour and remaining sweetened condensed milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour dough into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
Notes
If you are worried about using raw flour, you can heat the flour in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and heat for an additional 30-seconds. Cookie dough will stay fresh for up to one week in the refrigerator.
One note…do not try and bake this dough. It does not have any leavening agents in it, so it would be a disaster. If you are looking for a baked chocolate chip cookie recipe, try these favorites of mine:
