Cap’n Crunch’s Sprinkled Donut Crunch cereal is used to make these fun ((and YUMMY!!)) marshmallow cereal treats. Need a quick and easy, no-bake dessert recipe this Summer? Make this easy recipe and bring it to your next party and get ready to watch them quickly disappear!!
Y’all know my love of cereal treats! And I feel like it has been too long since I have shared one of my cereal treat creations with you. I have been so busy lately with work that I was slacking on making treats for the boys. I wanted to whip up a quick and easy dessert for the boys, and remembered the box of Cap’n Crunch Sprinkled Donut Crunch cereal James had bought. I told James if he gave me the box of cereal, I would turn the cereal into some amazing treats. And boy was James glad he handed that box of cereal over to me 😉
These marshmallow treats are perfect for Summer, when you don’t want to turn on the oven and need a quick dessert like NOW. Pin this for later…it’s always good to have these kinds of recipes in your back pocket. And yes…there is white chocolate chips in this recipe. But white chocolate haters don’t hate! You can’t taste the white chocolate, it just adds a rich flavor to the treats.
Donut Cereal Marshmallow Treats
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (or if using salted butter, omit the salt below)
- 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6-1/2 cups Cap'n Crunch's Sprinkled Donut Crunch Cereal
- Sprinkles
Instructions
Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.
Add the butter to a medium sized pot and melt on the stove top over medium-high heat. Remove one cup of mini marshmallows from the bag and set aside. Once the butter has melted, add the bag of mini marshmallows to the butter. Once the marshmallows start to melt, add a pinch of salt to the pot. Continue to stir the mixture continuously until all the marshmallows have melted. Once the marshmallows are completely melted, remove the pot from the stove top.
Immediately stir in the vanilla extract to the marshmallow mixture. Add the white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir until chocolate is mostly melted. Add the Cap'n Crunch cereal one cup at a time to the marshmallow mixture, stirring each cup of cereal in completely before adding the next. Continue adding cereal to the marshmallow mixture, until all the cereal is mixed in the marshmallow mixture. Stir in the cup of mini marshmallows that you had set aside.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and GENTLY press mixture evenly into the pan. Spray one of your hands with baking spray to gently press the mixture into the pan, if the mixture keeps sticking to your hand or fingers. Top with sprinkles. Let treats cool completely before cutting into desired sized squares.
Notes
Store treats at room temperature in an airtight container.
