Chocolate Chip Cookie Microwave Mug Cake is an easy, single-serving dessert that requires just a few ingredients, a large mug and a microwave. I mean who doesn’t love a piping hot, freshly baked cookie, that’s still a little gooey and takes just seconds to make? This is definitely one of those desserts to have on hand for those late night cravings!
Mug cakes are a dessert that is best eaten straight from the microwave. Once the cookie cools, it’s just not the same. This recipe is made for those times when you are sitting there, watching television, and are like, “I want a fresh, hot cookie but I don’t want to bake a whole batch and I want something NOW.” Microwave mug cake to the rescue!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Microwave Mug Cake
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/2 tablespoon white granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon egg substitute or 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used mini chocolate chips)
Instructions
In a large mug, add the melted butter, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Stir until combined. Stir in the egg. Fold in the flour and stir until all ingredients are combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Place mug in microwave and heat for 40-60 seconds. Cookie may look underdone, but you don't want to over cook it.
Remove mug cake from microwave and eat immediately from the mug. Option to add a scoop of ice cream on top!
Notes
Best eaten immediately.
Gee….there’s just enough room in the mug to put a scoop of ice cream on top of your cookie! Warm cookie…..melty ice cream. Mmmmmmm.

January 17, 2018 at 4:07 AMI love such easy, quick and tasty recipes, Kelly! This is an excellent treat for people with a sweet tooth like me. Can I use almond flour instead of an all-purpose one?
Kelly
January 19, 2018 at 11:25 AMThanks Agness! I think you could totally sub the regular flour for almond flour. You might need to add a tablespoon of water for added moisture though. I know almond flour can sometimes really suck in the moisture! Let me know if you try it out that way 🙂 XOXO
