Caramel corn cereal treats using Corn Chex, popcorn, butterscotch chips, marshmallows and caramel flavoring for the ultimate caramel corn treat.
For this recipe you can substitute the Corn Chex cup for cup with Cornflakes cereal instead. I used just regular butter flavored microwave popcorn in this recipe.

Caramel Corn Cereal Treats

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows
- 1-2 teaspoons caramel flavoring (I used Dolce Foglia)
- 2/3 cup butterscotch chips
- 5 cups Corn Chex Cereal
- 2 cups popped popcorn
- 1 cup rice crispies cereal
Instructions
Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.
In a large pot on the stovetop over medium high heat, place the butter and the marshmallows into the pot. Heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the butter and marshmallows are completed melted. Add the butterscotch chips and stir until mostly melted.
Remove from the stovetop and stir in the caramel flavor. Stir in the Corn Chex, popped popcorn and rice crispies cereal and mix until fully incorporated.
Pour the mixture into prepared pan and gently push the mixture evenly into the pan. Add sprinkles on top to make them pretty (optional).
Let cool completely before cutting into desired squares.
Notes
Store at room temperature in an airtight container. Treats stay fresh for 3-5 days. If you do not have caramel flavoring, you can use vanilla extract.
