Brown Sugar Blondies

These brown sugar blondies are easy to make and only need six ingredients! The blondies bake up like a brownie, but instead of chocolate, they have the rich flavor of brown sugar.

You can leave them plain or add cookie pieces, cinnamon-sugar, candy or sprinkles to jazz these up if you want. I addd M&M’s and sprinkles to my blondie batter before baking.

This recipe takes just a few minutes to mix together and makes a 9×13-inch pan of blondies. Great for a last minute barbecue or when you need a dessert for a crowd.

Brown Sugar Blondies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Gourmet Vanilla Extract)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1 cup of cookie pieces, candy, etc or sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar on top

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350-degrees and line a 9x13-inch pan with foil or parchment paper. Spray the bottom and sides with baking spray. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs, one at a time into the mixture. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until combined.

Change the mixer to low speed and add the salt and flour. Mix until barely combined. Remove the bowl from the mixer and add your desired add-in's (optional). Used a rubber scraper to ensure mixture is fully mixed.

Pour batter into prepared pan in an even layer (is adding cinnamon-sugar, this is where you would sprinkle it on top). Bake in 350-degree oven for 20-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes back with raw batter on it. Do not over bake. Blondies will continue to bake as they set on the counter.

Allow blondies to cool on the counter completely before cutting into desired sized squares.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an air tight container. Blondies stay fresh for several days.
