I was given another opportunity to work with Winnie’s Picks and complete another Paint By Numbers project. I had so much fun completing my first painting, I jumped at the chance to do another one! But what is a Paint By Numbers painting? Well! You can pick between a number of painting designs on their website, or you can submit your own photo and then you can paint that. Once you decide, Winnie’s Picks sends you the white canvas printed with the numbers, which correspond with the paint that is included (as are paintbrushes). Then you just start with paint number one and paint all the areas labeled with a one. And so on and so on.
It is a fun and relaxing activity, which also produces a gorgeous painting once you are done. None of those ugly, weird “wine and art” night paintings that people go and do (that you either throw away or hide in the back of a closet). Paint By Numbers leaves you with a painting that you will love and cherish forever.
This makes a unique and fun gift…either by you painting and framing a picture for someone, or gifting them with the fun of doing the actual Paint By Numbers.
For my project, I chose this picture of my “son” Ethan. Ethan is my ex-husbands son, but still lives with me half time. So he is basically as close to me having my own child as I will ever have. I loved the photos taken for his 8th grade year, so I was excited to choose this picture as my project:

I think it turned out awesome (if I do say so myself). One tip I have for you when completing a project like this, is to only paint a few numbers at a time. You have to be careful you don’t smudge any wet paint, since it isn’t a painting that is started from top to bottom.
And here’s my painting all framed and at home:
